There’s something funny that happens when my husband goes on work trips to New York. He comes back with dresses! More specifically, black dresses. This Marciano black dress was one of those dresses he gave me that I kept for a year before I had a chance to wear. I told him he needs to either stop buying me little black dresses or start taking me out to more places I can wear them! It’s a good thing he took me to see Idina Menzel! I’m certainly not complaining about the sweet things he surprises me with – especially when it’s as cute as this!
I feel so elegant in this dress; it makes me feel so graceful. If you couldn’t tell or didn’t know, I am a dancer. I teach dance after school to little ones! Being a ballerina since I was three and on pointe for ten years sometimes is evident in my photos too.
There are so many elements of this dress that I love, but perhaps my favorite is the side ruching. It creates a flattering silouette and adds clean, attractive details.
I wanted to dress down the little black dress a bit for the theater so I went for pops of color. For an edgy flair I added a leather jacket. This was especially useful for the air conditioned theater!
With a black dress, you can’t go wrong with any shoe you decide to wear. I wanted to wear something that was just plain fun so I chose these adorable floral Shoedazzle shoes!
I decided to stay away from sparkly, glamorous jewelry so that I didn’t appear too dressed up. I wore my Kendra Scott earrings and Rocksbox ring that I ended up purchasing because I couldn’t part with it. Seriously, I love Rocksbox so much, they certainly know how to keep me hooked with their fabulous jewelry!
Finally, I wore hot pink lipstick to add the final touch of feminine and flirty vibes!
